WJTC Boys Teams Qualify for Prostejov

Chinese Taipei, Korea, Rep., New Zealand and Thailand boys' teams have qualified for the ITF World Junior Tennis Finals

in Prostejov, Czech Republic on 4-9 August after reaching the semifinals of last week's Asia/Oceania Final qualifying event in New Delhi, India.
There are four places available at the Finals for nations from the Asia/Oceania region, therefore the four teams guaranteed their safe passage into the Finals of the prestigious ITF Under 14's event after reaching the last four at the Final Qualifying event.
Top seeds Korea faced fourth seeds Chinese Taipei in the first of the semifinals and seventh seeds New Zealand took on sixth seeds Thailand in the bottom half of the draw. It was to be a day of upsets as both Chinese Taipei and New Zealand recorded 2-1 victories to go through to the final.
Chinese Taipei and New Zealand faced off in the deciding match in a very close encounter. Chinese Taipei's Yu-Hsiang Su battled to a three-set win over New Zealand's Macsen Sisam to draw first blood before Chen-Jui Ho sealed victory for the fourth seeds as he rallied to a 61 46 60 victory over Finn Reynolds.
The battle for third place was won by top seeds Korea as Uisong Park and Seonyong Han recorded wins in their singles to take the tie 2-0.
